Principal's Corner
Hello SSHS families,
We are rapidly approaching the start to the year! A couple notes to remember.
If you have an incoming ninth grader or a new student to town that will be in the high school please get your registration paperwork in ASAP. If you don't have it or cannot find it, please call or stop by the school and we will get you one.
We have pushed our start date for school back from Aug. 24 to Sept. 1. On Aug. 31 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. we will have freshman orientation. This will be a time for them to meet their teachers, log into their computer accounts for the first time and to see what their day will look like.
Our school day will start at 8:30 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. and our doors will unlock at 8:15 a.m. to allow students in. We ask that students go directly to their first period class. If you would like to get breakfast first please go straight to the cafeteria.
We are on an intensive block. This means that students will stay in the same class in the morning block until lunch. Then after lunch students will transition to another class for three hours in the afternoon. This will help limit the number of contacts students have during the day.
We are really excited that fall sports practice has gotten underway. Please make sure students are showing up with their masks on and maintaining social distancing when possible. The ability to have a season and a school year rest on our ability to keep everyone safe and follow the safety procedures that are in place.
We will be allowing a limited number of fans at our home games. Each participant will be allowed to have two guests at each home contest. We will print passes for the player. The guests will be required to show the pass in order to be admitted to the game. Masks will be required for all spectators. We will also stream the games either via Facebook live or the NFHS network.
Follow our Seeley-Swan Activities page on Facebook for more updates as we get closer.
GO BLACKHAWKS!!
Mr. Palmer
