Swan Valley - Daniel Maloughney, 70, of Condon passed away at St. Patrick Hospital on April 30. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
50/50 Ice Off Challenge winner
SEELEY LAKE – Bill McDonald of Missoula and cabin owner in Seeley Lake, won $190 in the Tamaracks Resort’s 50/50 Ice Off Challenge. The ice went off Seeley Lake April 21.
Shortly after restrictions are lifted Alpine Artisans will be throwing a party at the Tamaracks Resort utilizing the funds raised.
Curbside library service available in Swan, Seeley Lake still closed
The Swan Valley Library opened for curbside service starting Wednesday, May 6 and will continue curbside service during regular hours until further notice (Mondays and Fridays 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.).
No one is allowed in the library. Patrons are encouraged to visit missoulapubliclibrary.org for books available from the library. Book exchange with partner libraries is not available until further notice. Books will be brought out to the patron. Right now there are no returns or fines. Call 754-2521 for more information.
The Seeley Lake Library remains closed until further notice.
Missoula County extends deadline for Land Stewardship Award nominations
MISSOULA - Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Missoula County Community and Planning Services has extended the nomination deadline for the annual Land Stewardship Award to Monday, June 1. The award recognizes landowners and residents who are taking stewardship of land and water seriously and embarking on projects and practices that make a difference for land, water, forests, wildlife and communities.
Community members and organizations are invited to nominate landowners and residents who are restoring, protecting or enhancing land and natural resources on their lands. The nomination form is available on the Community and Planning Services Open Lands website at http://missoula.co/stewardshipaward.
Local and statewide COVID-19 update
As of May 4, there are 457 cases of COVID-19 in Montana including 404 recoveries, 62 hospitalizations, six current hospitalizations and 16 deaths due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 41 cases, 36 of which have recovered and one death.
