Virtual Conversation on Preparedness, March 26

SEELEY LAKE – The public is invited to engage in a live-streamed Conversation on Preparedness Thursday, March 26 starting at 5:30 p.m. Tune in for a panel discussion via the Seeley Swan Pathfinder Facebook page and submit questions through the Facebook chat window. There will also be an opportunity to comment on a proposed Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) system for the Seeley Lake Historical Museum and Visitor’s Center (Barn).

The conversation is sponsored by the Double Arrow Landowners Association and will be facilitated by Thomas Kutchai, a resident on the Double Arrow Ranch with extensive preparedness experience.

Council suspends meetings, cancels Candidate Forum

SEELEY LAKE - In accordance with CDC guidelines, the Seeley Lake Community Council suspended its meetings until further notice and canceled the Candidates Forum planned for May.

Election Advisory Committee student and Seeley Lake Cemetery Board applicants sought

The Missoula Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications for a student member to serve the remainder of a three-year term on the Election Advisory Committee (EAC), which runs through Jan. 31, 2022. They are also accepting applications for the Seeley Lake Cemetery District Board for a new three-year term of May 1, 2020 through April 30, 2023.

To qualify for the EAC, a student member applicant must be a registered Missoula County voter and a student enrolled at the University of Montana or other post-secondary education institution in Missoula County on at least a half-time basis.

The Missoula County EAC comprises seven members who study the efficiency of the elections process, advocating for fair, robust and trustworthy elections. Its objectives include listening to stakeholders, conducting sound research and learning best practices and offering thoughtful advice and recommendations to commissioners with the goal of increasing public participation in the electoral process.

Meetings are held from 3-4:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at the Elections Office at 140 N. Russell in the conference room. 

Applications are available online or in the Commissioners’ Office, 199 W. Pine St. in Missoula. Submissions may be filed electronically or emailed to sbell@missoulacounty.us. The deadline for applications is April 19.

The Seeley Lake Cemetery board governs and manages the Seeley Lake Cemetery District. Meetings are held at 12 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Faith Chapel at 3260 Highway 83 N.
