Fix your eyes

Especially after the loss of a loved one, our thoughts are often directed to the brevity of life here on earth. As I advance in age, time seems to rush by faster & faster each year. Surely, we all need to be very aware that are days are numbered here in this temporary existence. And, Christians should most assuredly fix their eyes toward Heaven and hold fast to God’s promise that after we depart this earth, we will live eternally in Heaven with our Savior Jesus Christ.

In the beginning when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin then filled the world and the earth was cursed. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:20-24 that with the first sin, the whole world began decaying and groaning. Since then all Creation looks forward to the day when the earth is restored and free from death and decay. Specifically, believers long to be released from sin and suffering on this earth and they look forward to Heaven with full rights as God’s adopted children.

God graciously offers us freedom from the bonds of sin, redemption and hope for everyone through His Plan of Salvation.

Romans 3:23 tells us, “Because all people have sinned, they have fallen short of God’s glory.” So, God sent His only Son to earth to die on a cross as a Sacrifice for sin, so we can all be forgiven and freed from all our sins and be made right with God.

Our Salvation is confirmed when we first believe, confess our sins and repent. It is then that God places His Holy Spirit within us to direct our lives to bring glory to the Lord by how we live. So then, as Believers, we have the promise and assurance of living forever with Jesus in Paradise after we pass from this earthly life. -- Sadly, though, if we do not choose to believe in God in this world, our life after death will be in Hell for all eternity. -- Friend, choose God now and live forever with Him.

Set your mind on the scope of an eternal life in Heaven. We’re told about this life in the book of Revelation. It tells that there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain; there will no longer be any curse; there will be no more night as the Lord God provides light; and we will reign there for ever and ever, dwelling in righteousness with God in a new earth and new Heaven.

Jesus called His Heavenly Home “Paradise”, depicting a perfect place of extreme beauty, delight and happiness. Such a great hope is ours with the vision of a perfect, eternal home with God, the Creator of the Universe. Heaven’s marvelous wonder will be ours if we believe!

Christians, keep your eyes fixed on God and this vision of a future eternal Home in Heaven – an amazing hope for a life more glorious than we can imagine or conceive!
