Mobile Unit in Seeley Lake, Feb. 6

SEELEY LAKE – The Mobile Unit offering free and confidential ultrasounds and pregnancy testing will be in the Lazy Pine Mall parking lot Feb. 6 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. They also offer STD/STI testing. Some tests may carry a low lab fee.

Sparrow’s Vine and Care Net of Missoula sponsor the Mobile Unit. Call Sparrow’s Vine, 677-1900, or Care Net, 549-0406, to make an appointment. Walk-ins welcome as time allows.

Community Organizing for the Common Good, Feb. 8

SEELEY LAKE - Join the Seeley Lake Community Foundation for a public leadership training entitled “Community Organizing for the Common Good” Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Foundation building West Wing. This free training is provided by Healthy Start Missoula, a community coalition based out of the Missoula City-County Health Department.

The Missoula Interfaith Collaborative will equip individuals and community leaders to create powerful, systemic change throughout Seeley Lake and beyond. Using the methods, principles and practices of broad-based community organizing, attendees will learn what it takes to build sustainable partnerships that impact the overall health of families and loved ones.

RSVPs appreciated but drop-ins welcome. Child care available with RSVP. $20 gas cards for each attendee.

Swan Valley AARP meeting, Feb. 11

Swan Valley - The Swan Valley AARP will meet Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. at the Swan Valley Community Hall. A potluck lunch, hosted by Neil and Dixie Meyer, will begin at 12:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., there will be a brief business meeting after which Swan Valley Emergency Services will provide training on strokes, heart attacks and CPR. The public is invited.
