Everyone possesses one of two spirits, that of the world or that of Yahuah. The spirit of the world sees that which is of the flesh and no eyes to see that which is of obedience unto everlasting life.
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Yeshua, who is the image of Yahuah, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:3,4.
No one can do this without divine assistance.
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of Yahuah and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7.
For true believers this gospel will be obvious, also known as “the few” who hard-press into the straight and narrow way unto life, see Matthew 7:14.
“The many” are every bit as blind and oblivious as in the days of Noah. Judgment happened once, it will happen again. Most are clueless as to the urgency of the times. The many are sincerely involved in the traditional church world and many times the fruit of their lives are little different than those who never attend.
“Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them,” Matthew 7:20.
To keep His narrow way to gain favour, salvation or merit may be legalism. To keep His commandments because you possess His favour/salvation is not legalism but rather affirming love.
“He that hath my commandments and guard/keepeth them, he it is that loves me,” John 14:21.
