SEELEY LAKE – For Sam Olinger and Janet Price no job is too small if it helps out their neighbor. Owners of Seeley Residential Services, LLC, based out of Seeley Lake, say their goal is to offer a quality service with reasonable rates that provides assistance with everyday needs and helps whittle down the honey-do list.
Olinger and Price moved to Seeley Lake from Missoula in 2016. They loved recreating in the area and decided to move closer to what they call "a little paradise in the woods."
"We moved here and realized that there was a need for someone to take care of honey-do lists, check in on things and do basic maintenance and chores around the house," said Olinger. "We said, 'Hey, we can do that!' How great to be able to make a living here by helping our neighbors with whatever needs to be done."
Combining Olinger's home maintenance and repair skills with Price's ability to cook and clean and their collective understanding of "new-fangled technological devices" gives them the ability to offer a variety of services that can help people year-round.
"It is a lifetime of doing this kind of thing for friends and family," said Olinger. "There has been such a demand. The reception has been huge."
Seeley Residential Services, LLC officially opened in January but it wasn't until spring that business really picked up. After nearly a year in operation, they employ a couple part-time employees and hope to hire more in the future.
Seeley Residential Services, LLC offers services including: home maintenance, cleaning and repairs; snow removal including shoveling roofs; firewood; household and yard chores; meal preparation, cooking and baking; seasonal decorating; shopping assistance; computer, phone, television, internet setup and troubleshooting; concierge and delivery service; personal welfare visits; property monitoring and security checks.
"If you don't see what you need, just ask," said Price.
Rates vary based on the job. Being veteran owned and operated, they offer a discount for veterans. Price said that many of their clients are on a fixed income so they work with them to keep costs down.
Olinger and Price use the term 'neighbor' freely offering their services to anyone living from Ovando and Potomac north through Seeley Lake to Condon. While generally they schedule appointments Monday through Friday, their hours are flexible based on their clients' needs. They are also available if there is an emergency and someone needs immediate assistance.
"We have been really touched by people that we have met," said Price. "While there are days that the work is challenging, it is also very rewarding."
Olinger added, "We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season. Thank you to our current and past clients for their support. They are amazing. Without them we couldn't do this."
