First quarter wrap-up

Principal's Corner

Hello from Seeley-Swan High School. We just finished up our first Quarter of the school year. We held a community assembly in which we were able to recognize students and staff for their accomplishments. With the Quarter ending that means Parent Teacher Conferences are here. Staff will be available to meet with parents on Nov. 14 from 4-6 p.m. and Nov 15 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary so please come in and talk with your student's teachers.

Seeley-Swan High School is always looking for people who enjoy working with students and might be interested in subbing. We have several really good subs but would love to be able to expand our pool. If you are interested please go to the District's website, mcpsmt.org, and apply.

As we finished up our fall sports season, I want to take a minute to congratulate all of the programs. The volleyball and football teams each had a lot of success and have a good young core of athletes to build around. The cross-country team also had an outstanding season. The boys ran really well at state. The girl's team was your 2019 State Class C Champions! What a great accomplishment with four of the runners earning All-State.

The Fall sports banquet will be held on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. For more information please contact Kelley Hoag at Blackhawkboosters@gmail.com.

The American Studies class was able to go to Butte last week to learn about and tour the city. Through the Missoula Writer's Collaborative, our English classes are able to have Emily Withnall come up 12 times throughout the year. She is working with our students on their writing.

The Algebra 1 students are really starting to ramp up their time in our new math curriculum. The online component is called Mathia. We want them to be able to complete two workspaces per week between working at home and at school. Please encourage your students to work on this at home.

I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your dedication to our students at SSHS.

GO BLACKHAWKS!
