Laciey Auchenbach thanks Navy veteran and vice commander of Swan Valley American Legion Post #63 Rich Wiseman for his service. Auchenbach and other students from her third through fifth grade class at Swan Valley Elementary sang America the Beautiful during the lunch hosted by the American Legion Post #63 Ladies Auxiliary Nov. 11.

American Legion Post #63 Commander Edward Klassen and Vice Commander Rich Wiseman rang the bell in front of the plaques that name Swan Valley veterans who have passed away. They rang the bell 21 times in honor of the veterans' service and two more times in honor of the two most recent veterans to pass away, James Johnson and Mike Milochik. Klassen thanked veterans' families for their support and said, "Soldiers do their service for their families not because they love to fight."

Swan Valley American Legion Post #63 Auxiliary member Ronda Feucht spoke at the Veterans Day ceremony held Nov. 11. She honored her late husband Steve and his service in the Vietnam War. She said that many young men volunteered to serve their country in Vietnam. Several others shared memories. Swan resident Bill Jones said that his son calls him every Veterans Day to thank him for serving his country in the military. Jones said he deeply appreciates the gratitude. Swan resident Ron Ream said that his ancestors fought in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. He thanked his relatives that are serving in the military today.

American Legion Post #63 auxiliary member Ronda Feucht had help from fourth graders Noah Urban and Levi Boyd drawing the winning ticket for the basket at Veteran Day ceremony Nov. 11. The winner was Joe Raible. The winner of the raffle for the 44 magnum Smith and Wesson pistol was Rick "Yogi" Johnson.
