Pets in campgrounds

SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Ranger District clarified their regulations for pets in campgrounds after questions and comments were posted on social media. In Big Larch Campground and other developed recreation campgrounds, pets need to be leashed on a six foot tether at all times.  No pets are allowed in roped off swimming areas or beaches unless designated like the Seeley Lake Pet Area Swimming Beach, north of the public swimming beach area at the Seeley Lake Campground.

SSHS football spaghetti feed and auction fundraiser, Aug. 23

SEELEY LAKE - Seeley-Swan Blackhawks football is inviting community members to attend the first annual Spaghetti Feed and auction Friday, Aug. 23 from 6 – 8 p.m. Spaghetti, rolls and bottled water for $7 a plate (5 and under are free).

After dinner starts, local auctioneer Bruce Wold will auction off baked items such as pies, huckleberry bars and brownies. There will also be items available from local businesses.

All proceeds from the event will go towards new uniforms, camp scholarships and updated equipment for the SSHS Blackhawk football program.

Loving Hearts Fashion Show, Aug. 24

SEELEY LAKE – Everyone is invited to join Loving Heart in celebrating all they do for the community at their annual Fashion Show Saturday, Aug. 24 from 12-3 p.m. Admission is free and includes lunch, door prizes, raffle, silent auction and fashions from Loving Hearts. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the mission of Loving Hearts and support their ministry.

Vaccine clinic in Seeley Lake, Aug. 28

SEELEY LAKE – Missoula Animal Control is hosting a Vaccine and Microchip Clinic Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Missoula County Satellite Office, north of Seeley Lake on Highway 83. Missoula County residents are invited to bring their dogs and cats, four months or older, to the clinic. The cost of vaccines range from $10-$13 per shot and include Rabies, distemper for canines and felines and bordetella. They will also be offering Microchips for $15. Payment will be accepted with cash or check only, credit cards will not be accepted.

There is no appointment needed. All dogs must be licensed at the clinic. If declining rabies vaccine, please provide written proof of rabies vaccination.
