SEELEY LAKE – Missoula County has launched a new website hoping to address some of the issues raised at the Seeley Lake Community Council’s Building Forum in January. Missoula County Project Manager Gayl Hann announced the new website at the Council meeting June 10.
Hann said the county learned at the building forum that people were having trouble finding all the things they needed to navigate the building permit system. The County had already started using software that would send the applications out to all the necessary departments without the applicant having to know where all to send it but that wasn’t enough.
At the forum it became apparent that people were being hung up before they even applied. All of the information was available on the County’s website but the applicant had to go to each department’s page and look for the info. The new website puts all the permitting information in one spot and provides the applicant tools to help fill out the permits.
One of the tools allows users to enter their address and pull up a property information sheet including zoning, floodplains, storm water, air stagnation, existing permits and legal description. Hann said this information sheet helps answer questions that may be needed to apply for a permit.
Everyone is encouraged to visit the new website http://www.missoulacounty.build. Hann said the site would have more information added as it is identified as being needed and encourages anyone who has trouble finding things to let her know at ghann@missoulacounty.us
