SLE graduates celebrate year of growth

SEELEY LAKE - Faculty and staff at Seeley Lake Elementary celebrated the accomplishments of its 26 eighth grade graduates Wednesday, June 5.

Keeping with Seeley Lake tradition, the eighth graders presented loved ones with flowers at their graduation ceremony.

"I would like to point out a teacher, for being like a second mother to us, pushing us and encouraging us to be better, thank you Mrs. Bartlett for being such a great teacher to us all," said Tyler Neher and Dakota Gonzalez.

The 2019 Presidential Academic Achievement Award went to students receiving an A- grade point average in seventh and eighth grade. Students must also achieve at or above the benchmark for science, math and English in MAP testing. Owen Hoag, Cora Stone, Johnnie Stout, Wyatt Stout and Kaden Thornsberry were presented with the award.

After the presentation of diplomas, Stout introduced the Staff Choice Award to Cora Stone. The recipient of the award is selected by a vote amongst staff at SLE.

"The purpose of this award is to pick a student that is all around helpful, cheerful," said Stout. "I don't know how to describe it but a genuine good person."
