Several staff changes at SLE for next school year

Seeley Lake Elementary School Board

SEELEY LAKE – Seeley Lake Elementary School is shuffling staff for next year. The school board received two resignations and Superintendent Chris Stout shared about internal transfers and the need to hire a new second grade teacher at their May 20 board meeting.

The board accepted resignation letters from second grade teacher Erin Lynch and kindergarten teacher Robin Beckett. With the kindergarten position open, Stout approved first grade teacher Sheila Devins’ request to transfer back to kindergarten. Second grade teacher Rachel Bemis will then take the first grade teaching position. Stout said he will advertise for a second grade teacher soon.

Physical Education teacher Brett Haines will be replaced by Julie Haines next fall. The board hired Janina Bradley to fill Haines’ special education position and Jeff Husmann to fill the open junior high position.

The board elected Ryen Neudecker as the new board chair and Kyle Marx as the vice chair. The board thanked trustee Karen Kovatch for her years of service on the board. Since no one ran for her position, it remains vacant.

Anyone interested in serving on the school board is encouraged to submit a letter of interest to District Clerk Heather Mincey at hminceysle@sleonline.org. The board will appoint the position for one year at which time the appointed trustee can run for a two-year term.

The next board meeting will be June 18 at 5:30 p.m. at SLE.
