Community Foundation awards small grants

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is pleased to announce its 2019 small grant awards, helping six local organizations fund important community projects.

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation (SLCF) board of directors awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process, with the aim of supporting projects with broad community benefits. This small grant program supports local projects in the areas of: art and culture, community and economic development, basic human needs, education and natural resources and conservation.

The 2019 SLCF small grant recipients and their projects:

• Alpine Artisans: $2,000 to help fund Shakespeare in the Park and a 2 Valleys Stage Arts Residency

• Clearwater Resource Council: $2,000 to reclaim and redevelop a half-mile interpretive trail at Big Larch campground addressing lake and fire ecology

• Missoula Aging Services: $2,000 to support funding for the Seeley Lake Resource Specialist’s position

“For this grant cycle, SLCF received more applications than in any year since the program’s inception in 2003,” says SLCF Executive Director Claire Muller. “Although we were unable to award funding for all of the great proposals, I’m excited about the impact these projects will have on this community. Thank you to all the organizations that put in the time and effort to apply for funding, and thank you all for the great work you’re doing for Seeley Lake!”

Grant applications for up to $2,500 in funding are due Jan. 31 for the yearly SLCF small grant cycle.
