Fun in the sun at the Lions' Club annual skating party

SEELEY LAKE – With temperatures in the sun reaching close to 50 degrees, children and adults quickly shed the extra layers as they took to the ice on skates or enjoyed sledding around the Lions Club Pond at the annual Lions Club ice skating party Sunday, Jan. 27. With nearly 70 in attendance, there was never a dull moment with impromptu skate races and sledding fun. When attendees needed to refuel, hot dogs, chili and cookies hit the spot.

To add to the fun, Lion and park manager Bobby Maddox took to the ice two times during the event tossing candy for a candy scramble. He was amazed how much the ice was melting.

"I had a blast and I hope everyone else did too," said skate park manager Bobby Maddox. "It was a great turn out."
