Thank you to the people of House District 92 for giving me the opportunity to continue serving you in the State Legislature. I really love working for the people of this district and I look forward to going to back to Helena in January and building on the work that we accomplished last session. I sincerely appreciate all the people who knocked on doors, hosted our campaign signs, made phone calls and donated to our campaign.
I also want to thank Lee Bridges. Lee and her team ran a great race and I think it’s a large part of the reason why we had such a great turnout this year. I look forward to working with Lee in the upcoming session.
With Committee Assignments having been announced, I will again be serving on the House Appropriations Committee where we will once again be focusing on delivering a structurally sound, responsible, balanced budget to the people of Montana that doesn’t require us as a state to raise taxes in order to meet our obligations.
Having legislators who represent rural districts involved in state infrastructure planning is vital when it comes to maintaining a balance between dollars going to big cities and dollars being invested in our rural communities, so I am happy to announce I will be chairing the Long-Range Planning Committee where we put together all of the state’s infrastructure bills.
I will also continue serving on the Legislative Finance Committee and will be heading back to Helena Dec. 3 for our next committee meeting where we will go over the upcoming revenue estimate and dive into the Governor’s budget recommendations.
