Blackhawks secure third win

TROY - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks headed west to battle with the Trojans Oct. 12.

The Blackhawks struck first, scoring a touch down and sticking the two-point conversion at the end of the opening drive. The Trojans came back with a touchdown and then recovered a fumble to set up a second touchdown in the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Blackhawks regained the lead, pounding in four touchdowns while allowing just one for Troy.

The Blackhawks kept up the pace in the second half scoring a pair of touchdowns in both quarters while holding Tory to a single touchdown in the fourth. The final score was 66-24.

Head Coach Ryan Sokoloski said team played extremely well despite the great weather changing to rain, sleet and snow during half time. He felt the Blackhawks controlled most aspects of the game both offense and defense as well as special teams. Sokoloski said they only gave up a couple of long pass plays resulting in Trojan touchdowns.

The Blackhawks' final home game of the season is Oct. 19 against Charlo with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Seniors for both football and cross country will be recognized at 6:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
