SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks added a pair of victories to their resume last week defeating Victor and Drummond. The Ladies overall record is now 4-2.
The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Victor Pirates Sept. 13. The Ladies made quick work of Pirates the first two games, 25-9 and 25-16.
The Pirates were not ready to walk the plank and put up a little better fight in game three. The Lady Blackhawks jumped to an early lead but it was soon tied at 6-6. The teams stayed within a couple of points of each other through the middle of the game.
The Lady Blackhawks then rallied to a 21-11 lead but the Pirates answered right back with a rally of their own, tying it at 21. The Lady Blackhawks had enough of the Pirates finishing them off 25-21, keeping the match to three games.
The Lady Blackhawks had strong serving again led by Ashley Miller serving 6 aces and Taylor Dillree with 5. Autumn Morse had 8 assists while Klaire Kovatch had 11 kills.
On the defense, Chloe Robbins scored 2 stuff blocks and was joined by Miller for the team's 2 blocks. Dillree led the Ladies with 10 digs.
The Lady Blackhawks then hosted Drummond Sept. 15 and easily overcame them in three games, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-10.
Kovatch dominated the net for the Lady Blackhawks with 12 kills, 5 stuff blocks and 2 blocks. Morse and Miller had 8 digs each while Morse led with 10 assists. Dillree scored with 4 aces.
This week the Lady Blackhawks host Arlee Sept. 20 with JV starting at 4:30 p.m. and then head to St. Regis Sept. 22 for a tournament. The first game is at 9 a.m.
