Singer-Songwriter Rebecca Folsom to perform in Swan Valley

SEELEY LAKE – The 2 Valleys Stage Performing Arts Series will welcome singer-songwriter Rebecca Folsom to the Seeley-Swan area Sunday, Sept. 23. She will be giving a community concert at Swan Valley Community Hall at 3 p.m., followed by a two-day residency in the Seeley, Swan and Potomac schools.

Some will remember Folsom from several seasons ago when 2 Valleys Stage brought her and Celeste Krenz to the valley as the "Rhythm Angels." This time Folsom will be performing with guitarist Mark Oblinger. Based on Folsom's previous performance in the Seeley area, we know she will not disappoint!

Folsom's music pours from an inner source of honest emotion, flowing with tenderness to a fully liberated, unbridled release. Her poetic songs open your heart, setting free a vulnerability you didn't realize was locked away and inviting you to embrace life with all of its joy, sorrow, passion and love. She brings both a pure vocal quality reminiscent of old Appalachia and a blues prowess. Her songs crack open hearts, inspire wonder and leave listeners with a deeper perspective. Folsom's world-class voice traverses a newer-four-octave range. She leads audiences on a multifaceted journey from lilting tenderness to unbridled Joplinesque release.

High Plains Radio praised, "Lush harmonies, great acoustic music and a lot of sass and attitude....sweet one minute and then rebellious and smart the next." Westword said, "Rebecca's songs hit like little earthquakes!" and Dirty Linen said, "[Folsom's] songs are at once literate and emotional and harmonies that strike just the right note of connection and invention while staying spare and serving the music."

Folsom is a true renaissance woman. In addition to her career as a recording artist and national touring musician, she is a published author with two books of poetry and she conducts empowerment workshops. She is also an oil painter with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and has shown her works in numerous galleries. She creates commissioned songs, poetry and artwork.

This is not an event to miss. Individual concert tickets may be purchased at the door: $14 adults; $12 seniors; children free with adult. Season tickets for the 2 Valleys Stage 2018-19 season are still available and may be purchased at the door for $50 for adults. This performance only, senior season tickets are discounted to $40!
