Ten years and counting

SEELEY LAKE – The lawn at Littlebird's Marketplace came alive for the final Farmers' and Crafters' Market of the season Sept. 2. The End of the Season Celebration closed out the tenth year with food, vendors, music and an opportunity to get together.

Attendees were all smiles in the sunshine as they picked out their produce, browsed the many displays and visited with neighbors and vendors.

Many of the vendors shared how much they love the atmosphere at the Seeley Lake Market. While it is a slower pace than the market in Missoula and Hamilton, the amount of sales and loyal customers kept them coming back.

After picking up food from various vendors, many attendees sat down and enjoyed the music by Seeley Lake and Potomac blue grass musicians.

"Sunday's final market of the season was a fantastic day filled with love and laughter," wrote organizer Vicki Voegelin in an email. "When I look out at the market on summer Sundays, I do so with a deep sense of pride and accomplishment."

Voegelin wrote that last Sunday was no different, but there was a little something more. "I looked out at a community who is struggling to find peace and a clear vision for our future. And I thought to myself that this is the one place where we can all gather and put aside our differences."

Voegelin's ten year commitment with her husband, the vendors and the community is something that she feels everyone should take pride in.

"Well done everyone and thank you," wrote Voegelin. "It is something that we have built together and will continue to enjoy for years to come."
