MISSOULA – The MADE Fair Marketplace, a fine art show Aug. 7 – 12, is new to the Western Montana Fair this year. Seeley Lake photographer Juan de Santa Anna is one of the artists and will feature his rodeo photos along with other works.
The MADE fair is a competitive juried show. The MADE Fair's mission is to increase awareness of handmade goods as an alternative to mass-produced items and support local and regional small craft business by providing a place to sell their goods.
The new MADE fair Marketplace is a modern handcrafted multi-day market during the Western Montana Fair. The event will showcase a curated collection of over 70 different artisans per day in the historic commercial building. In addition to artist booths, enjoy watching the Artists in Residence work, learn a new skill at the Make & Take zones, and visit with local non-profits.
De Santa Anna has been named the Best Artist in the Pathfinder's Best of the Valleys contest in 2017 and 2018. He was the only photographer chosen for the MADE Fair Marketplace.
Along with his rodeo photos, de Santa Anna will be highlighting other works. One such series is his signature traveling tutu photos. What started at the Seeley Lake Pond Hockey tournament in 2018, continued as he took photos of complete strangers wearing rainbow-colored tutus on his trip to Alaska. He will have the tutus with him at the fair.
The MADE Fair Marketplace is open Wednesday - Saturday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Find Juan's Photography at Booth 50 in the Commercial Building at the fairgrounds. All of his work is for sale.
