Curtiss is the Local Leadership Needed for Businesses and Jobs

MISSOULA - When I first came to Missoula more than a decade ago, the concept of “economic development” was met with skepticism and outright resistance. When the recession hit that sentiment started to change. More and more people started realizing that being intentional about working to grow and maintain a sustainable economy not only made sense but was of the highest priority.

Since then, we’ve relied on local leadership to help grow new and existing businesses and bring in new jobs to support local families. Missoula County Commissioner Jean Curtiss shares a vision for working to create new jobs in the county and she’s diligently used her position to make a positive impact for generations to come.

I have seen Jean in action as she has fought for good jobs for Missoula County families, supported the redevelopment plans of the old Bonner mill site (which now has over 400 employees) and led efforts to support all local businesses by writing and administering grants for feasibility studies, business ideas, job creation grants and workforce training grants. She also knows that a healthy and thriving community is also measured by how it cares for its neighbors most in need.

Missoula County Commissioner Jean Curtiss needs our support to keep doing important work ahead. She has my vote on June 5th and I hope she has yours, too.
