CRC Urgently Needs Volunteer with Snowmobile

SEELEY LAKE - Volunteers for the Clearwater Resource Council are actively sampling many creeks in the valley. Due to a sudden onset health issue, their most adventuresome volunteer is forced to stand down. He was snowmobiling out to several sites off the Jocko Road, beyond Placid Lake.

CRC is looking for a volunteer with a snowmobile to sample those sites, once a week, until the road is no longer suitable for snowmobiles. The actual sampling is extremely easy and doesn’t take more than five minutes at a site. It’s getting there that is the challenge. When in the week to sample is up to the volunteer.

The streams being sampled are affected by the Liberty Fire. CRC has several years of pre-fire data. This first year post-fire is important information to gather.

If interested in helping for the next several weeks, weather dependent, or for more information, please contact Joann at 210-8453 or joann@crcmt.org.
