Deepest Respect - Thank You!

Driving home Saturday, March 17, I spun out maybe 60 yards up my driveway. As I was sliding backward, my vehicle spun sideways and got stuck in that position boxed in by snowbanks. I made a call to Clearwater Towing to get me out.

As I was standing outside my vehicle, I noticed a pickup truck coming up my drive. A man, his wife and black lab stopped. “I saw you were in trouble when we were driving by on the highway (83). I might be able to help you get your vehicle out.”

I was stunned that anyone could even see me sideways in my driveway half way up the hill from the highway. I told him I had a wrecker coming. He said he and his wife spent the weekend in Seeley Lake and were now heading home to the Bitterroot.

I told him, “Hey I really appreciate what you’re asking but I’d still have a wrecker bill.” Besides that he had a newer pickup truck. I didn’t need my truck sliding into his vehicle causing any damage.

When Clearwater showed up, I shook his hand and they got back into their vehicle. As they backed down the driveway I realized I failed to get their names or their address in the Bitterroot.

Well sir, with my deepest and sincere THANK YOU! I hope if you pick up our Pathfinder newspaper you will see my deepest respect to you and your wife. Being here in Seeley Lake going on 19 years after relocating from the East Coast… I’d still be sitting on a hillside driveway there. And reason 5,999 why I’m STILL in beautiful Montana. Thank you Sir and thank you Ben! As always, you and your men are nothing less than professional, with “safety first in mind.”
