SEELEY LAKE - The next meeting of the Seeley Lake Community Council will open on a cheerful note. Lee Boman has collected four great ideas for Seeley that will be presented to the public.
Boman explained that “our objective is to make the community aware of some new ideas and perhaps trigger more involvement and volunteers.”
The first idea is a covered, outdoor ice rink for Seeley Lake, presented by Scott Newpower.
Following Newpower, Jessica Kimmel will propose that Highway 83 be renamed “Glacier
Parkway.”
Next will be Auguste Lockwood, whose idea is the installation of a charging station in Seeley for electric vehicles.
Finally, Lisa Hayhurst will talk about the new community website launched by the Seeley Lake Chamber of Commerce.
After the great ideas Rachel Feigley, USFS District Ranger, will outline the opportunities for mushroom harvesting within wildfire perimeters.
The final speaker on the agenda will be Ron Cox, who will talk about the $2.5 million left from the Missoula County Trails Bond and whether they might be used for the Airport Road pathway.
Like always, there will be an opportunity for public comments on non-agenda items.
The informal part of the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. next Monday, March 12, at the Barn, 2920 Highway 83, with pizza and sodas. The formal meeting will begin at
6 p.m.
