Seeley Lake Fire Board and Seeley Lake Sewer District to Hold Elections

Special District Elections will be held for the Seeley Lake Rural Fire District and Seeley Lake Sewer District during the May 8 mail-in election. For the rest of the boards, if the number of applicants is equal to or less than the number of seats open, no election will be held. Candidates have until March 29 to file for the four school districts with open trustee positions.

Five candidates applied for the two, three-year terms on the Seeley Lake Rural Fire District. Incumbents Gary Lewis and Connie Clark filed to remain on the board. Seeley Lake residents Shawn Ellinghouse, Mark Kues and Alyssa McLean will also be running for the open positions.

The three incumbents on the Seeley Lake Sewer District Mark Butcher, Mike Lindemer and Bob Skiles filed to remain as trustees. Seeley Lake residents Troy Spence, Juliana Cole and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Hutchinson also filed for the three, four-year terms.

Potomac School District #11, Seeley Lake School District #34, Sunset School District #30 and Swan Valley School District #33 filing remains open until March 29. As of Feb. 13, no one has filed for these positions.

The Pathfinder will provide a local election guide to the candidates for the Seeley Lake Rural Fire District Board and Seeley Lake Sewer District prior to the May 8 mail-in election. The Seeley Lake Community Council will also be hosting a Candidate Forum in April.

Uncontested Races in Seeley Lake

Bruce Friede and Klaus von Stutterheim applied for the two, three-year terms that were held by Chris Stout and Jan Guelff on the Seeley Lake Community Council.

For the Seeley-Swan Hospital District, Bruce Richardson of Condon and Seeley Lake’s Terryl Bartlett applied for the two, three-year terms. Current trustees Twyla Johnson and Rachelle Harman will not be running again.

Two incumbents filled for the two, four-year positions on the Seeley Water District Board. Charlie Hahn and Freda Grimes will remain as trustees.

Uncontested Races in Swan Valley

Ken Donovan and Kathy Koors’ terms end in May with the Swan Valley Community Council. Donovan reapplied for one of the two, three-year terms. The other position remains open.

No one applied to fill the one, three-year position on the Swan Valley Fire District Board.

Uncontested Races in Potomac

Leigh Kelley was the only applicant for the two open seats with the Greenough/Potomac Fire District.
