Handbell Choir Invites New Members

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Handbell Choir will resume its regular practice sessions Jan. 30 at 3:15 p.m. in the music room of Seeley Lake Elementary. The choir regularly practices from 3:30 – 5 p.m. on Tuesdays in the music room.

We are seeking new members to come join in the fun. If you’ve ever thought you might like to try ringing handbells, this is your chance. Come, give it try and see how you like it. No commitment is required. Some ability to read music, even if just a little and incredibly rusty is fine. We’ll knock that rust off and get you up to speed!

For further information, contact Joann Wallenburn, 677-4424 or joann@wallenburn.org. Feel free to just show up Jan. 30th.

Missoula BLM Meeting Postponed

MISSOULA – Due to the government shutdown, a meeting to discuss the Missoula Bureau of Land Management’s proposed Resource Management Plan has been postponed until further notice.

The open house to discuss preliminary alternatives for the revision of the RMP was scheduled for Jan. 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lubrecht Forest-Castles Forestry Center in Greenough, Mont.

While the meeting has been postponed, the public can still review documents and maps discussing the preliminary alternatives at the BLM’s ePlanning website: http://1.usa.gov/21RNCPG

The Missoula Field Office is undertaking one of its biggest projects in recent years: overhauling its RMP—the document that guides its management of 162,000 acres of public lands and 268,000 acres of federal mineral interests. Since early 2017, the BLM has held several open houses in the Missoula area in order to identify issues and concerns within the planning area, which includes BLM-administered public lands and federal mineral estate in Flathead, Granite, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Powell, Ravalli and Sanders counties.
