Knowing the Truth of God

Bible (King James version) John 17:3: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The most important thing we need to do in this life is to know the only true God and Jesus Christ, for this is life eternal or eternal life with God. To know the true God, we need to know the truth of God.

What is True? http://www.merriam-webster.com defines True as:

(1): being in accordance with the actual state of affairs

(2): conformable to an essential reality 

Truth means, how things actually are. No lies or falsehoods. Satan tries to deceive man by adding a little truth to lies, adding a little lie to truth or strait up lies with no truth. We know Satan wants to deceive us and wants us to follow him instead of the only true God.

How do we know what is true? The Bible holds the keys for understanding what is true. The Sadducees and Pharisees where the religious leaders and top authorities of the Scriptures, at the time of Christ. They dedicated their lives to the study of God and lived their lives according to the Law of Moses and the Ten Commandments. The Pharisees and Sadducees believed they were doing what was right and teaching what they thought was true. But they interpreted the prophecies and scripture falsely. They were deceived and those who listened to and followed them were deceived also. We cannot blindly follow man and look to man as the final authority on truth. We can listen to man and read the scriptures but we must turn to God for the truth and God only.

How do we turn to God and receive truth from him?

We Pray and ask him directly. If we ask God with faith, he will let us know the truth of all things.

Bible (King James version) James 1:5-6: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

God will answer our prayers and teach us truth through the Comforter or Holy Ghost.

Bible (King James version) John 14:26: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

God is the Creator of all things. God created truth. God is truth and the truth shall set you free from Satan and his bondage.

Bible (King James version) John 8:31-32: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
