Sue Cushman from Condon said the best Christmas present she ever got was a $200 check from her parents. At that time she had eight children, seven boys and one girl. She spent the money on a trampoline. She said, "My mother was aghast! I said, No, no, no, you have no idea how valuable this gift is. And it turned out to be the most wonderful gift."

Carla Zell Schade from Seeley Lake said, "My most memorable Christmas gift was actually a crumpled piece of paper with all sorts of colorful scrawls on it. That Christmas we had decided, because everybody was feeling rather poor, that we would draw names and only exchange homemade gifts. The person who got my name was less than two years old. I called him later to tell him thank you for the wonderful picture. And he said, 'It's not a picture. It says, I love you Aunt Carla."

Sheri Burden from Swan Lake said she was the youngest of four kids and usually got hand-me-downs but she remembers one Christmas she got a brand new tricycle. She said she was thrilled because, "nobody had ridden it before me!"

Mary Miester from Seeley Lake said she grew up as an only child. Her most memorable Christmas was when she was eight years old. Her parents invited a girl from Twin Bridges Orphanage to come and spend the Christmas holidays with them. Miester said her father grew up in an orphanage and perhaps that is what prompted the gesture. She said, "That was my most memorable Christmas because I had someone my own age to play with and share Christmas with."
