A Message from the Volunteers of the Seeley Lake Rural Fire Department

SEELEY LAKE - For the volunteer members of the Seeley Lake Rural Fire Department there is nothing more important than the community we serve. Undoubtedly, the resignation of Chief Bob Vanden Heuvel left a significant amount of uncertainty in the future management of the Department. We wish to thank Chief Bob for his dedication and unselfish support of the Seeley Lake and surrounding communities over the past few years.

Members of the Department met Tuesday night, Oct. 24 to discuss operations moving forward. As fellow members of the community, we want to assure you that we are all here, committed and ready to respond as we always have. The men and women of this fine organization recognize their responsibility to help ensure the safety of our citizens. The Seeley Lake Rural Fire Department is, and always will be dedicated to serving the people of the District with the upmost professional attitude, integrity and respect that the community deserves. Each day we’re proud of our volunteers who come from their homes, families and jobs to willingly give their time to respond to emergencies.

The future of the Seeley Lake Rural Fire District will be filled with a variety of opportunities and challenges. The importance of open communication, honesty and transparency will be critical as the District Board of Trustees moves through the processes of finding a new Chief. As our community grows, the demand for emergency service continues to increase and so too will our need for support. It is imperative that the Fire District Board of Trustees, the volunteer members and community work together to ensure the service you expect and deserve.

On behalf of the Seeley Lake Rural Fire Department volunteers, I would like to encourage any one of you who may have questions, comments, concerns or the urge to serve to please come down and visit. I also encourage each of you to reach out to the Fire District Board of Trustees (whom you’ve elected) with any concerns that you may have.

We respond to each call knowing that we are so lucky to have a strong community standing behind us! Thank you for all your support.

Sincerely,

Cory Calnan, Captain

Shawn Ellinghouse, Captain & Fire Company President
