SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks hosted Drummond Sept. 19 before heading to Arlee Sept. 23 for an all-day tournament.
Versus Drummond
The Lady Blackhawks got off to a slow start. Drummond built a 10-17 advantage in game one before the Ladies took flight. They held Drummond to just three points as they racked up 15 of their own for the 25-20 win.
The teams went point for point through the first half of game two. The Lady Blackhawks rallied mid-game and took an 8-point lead. They coasted to the 25-19 victory.
The third game was the tightest yet. Neither team could build more than a couple point lead right up until the end. The Lady Blackhawks came out on top 27-25 and won the match.
Ashley Miller led the Ladies with 3 aces, 15 digs, 9 kills and 1 stuff block. Emily Mercado also had 3 aces while Klaire Kovatch had the team's other stuff block. Autumn Morse led in assists with 16.
Arlee Tournament
The Lady Blackhawks took on five different teams in abbreviated matches. They played Plains, Mission, Granite, Darby and Arlee.
Lady Blackhawks Head Coach Tammy Lewis said the Ladies had some successes throughout the day and were able to try out some different defenses but didn't make the finals.
Arlee came out on top of the tournament with Clark Fork, Noxon and Loyola making the finals.
Autumn Morse led the Lady Blackhawks with 18 digs and 17 assists for the day. Klaire Kovatch had 9 kills and joined Ashley Miller with one stuff block each. Emily Mercado led the team's serving efforts with 5 aces.
This week the Ladies have a busy week starting in Drummond Sept. 26 with games beginning at 5 p.m. They then travel to Lincoln Sept. 28 for a varsity only match at 6 p.m. and finish the week at home on Saturday against Charlo with games staring at 4 p.m.
