While we’re dealing with one of the worst threatening wildfires in the U.S. right now here with our Rice Ridge Fire on Seeley Lake’s doorstep, Senator Jon Tester and Governor Bullock both came to Seeley Lake to make serious inquiries and evaluate what additional resources we might need.
On Aug. 11, Montana’s U.S. Senator Steve Daines emailed the following newsletter to his Montana constituents commenting on having just returned from a wonderful backpack trip and wondering how we’re enjoying our summer.
He stated, “Last week rang in the 86th Montana State Fair! Thousands attended the rodeos, horse races and concerts in Great Falls.
County fairs and rodeos, outdoor barbecues and music festivals like “Music on Main” in Bozeman are happening all over Montana in the summer months. Long drives to lakes, floating down rivers, camping and hiking characterize summers in Big Sky Country.
I just returned from a backpacking trip myself and I’d love to hear about your summer! Where’s your favorite summer spot in Montana? What summer community events are happening near you? Please share below.”
Well, Senator Steve Daines, we’re having a fun, smoke-filled summer here in our favorite spot, Seeley Lake, Montana. We’re so sorry you’ve not had the pleasure. Our favorite Governor Bullock and Senator Jon Tester both drove out to Seeley Lake to see first-hand what we’re dealing with and see what they could do to help. And of course, Senator Tester has held numerous in-person town halls around the state, unlike you.
But don’t worry your pretty little head about us. You focus on enjoying your August recess from Congress.
