Change Your Pace Challenge Raises More Than $80,000

SEELEY LAKE — In the unincorporated communities around Seeley Lake, it is the efforts of many volunteer organizations that provide services and support in the areas of art and culture, education, community development, natural resources and conservation and basic human needs. It has been the goal and mission of the Seeley Lake Community Foundation to support those efforts.

This year, the Seeley Lake Community Foundation raised $30,000 in matching funds to support fundraising efforts of 18 area non-profits in the 2017 Change Your Pace Challenge: Alpine Artisans, Inc., Big Blackfoot Chapter Trout Unlimited, Camp Utmost, Seeley Swan Partnership Health Clinic, Seeley Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Seeley Lake Community Foundation, Sela -Senci Senior Center, Seeley Lake Lions, Seeley Lake ROCKS, Veterans and Families of Seeley Lake, Sparrows Vine, Seeley Lake Historical Society, Seeley-Swan High School Destinations for Education, Seeley Lake Elementary Outdoor Leadership Project, Seeley Lake Volunteer Fire Department and Upper Swan Valley Historical Society. Jody Chritton, Program Assistant, for the Foundation, wrote more than 200 individual thank you letters to all the donors, many of whom followed the Change Your Pace Challenge model and earmarked their contributions for multiple organizations near and dear to their hearts! Jody and Christi Barr, our CPA, were also busy with deposits and communication with participating organizations.

The eight-week fundraising effort paid off with $81, 230.59 raised benefiting area nonprofit and service organizations.

Presentation checks will be made at the Seeley Lake Community Foundation’s 15th Annual Fundraising Banquet Aug. 27.
