SWAN VALLEY - I am grateful to the Seeley Swan Pathfinder for the opportunity to address a topic under discussion in Swan Valley Regional Planning Committee: the edits to the Swan Valley Regional Plan by Colleen Dowdall.
I wish to emphasize that the edits to the Swan Valley Regional Plan by Colleen Dowdall, a Missoula attorney, represent the comments of a local resident.
The fact that she rewrote the entire plan does not change the fact that these are the comments of one of the more than 60 written comments that were presented to the Swan Valley Regional Planning Committee during March of 2015.
It is not clear to me why this set of comments should now become the second draft of the planning committee. This is not to say that this set of comments has not been very helpful in assisting the committee in the revision of its first draft. But, again, let me emphasize that these are comments written for, and therefore the opinions of, one local resident.
The work on the draft has been extremely slow. I am not familiar with revision meetings being open to public comment but the Swan Valley Regional Planning Committee meetings are. This format has added to the time necessary to review written comments and also incorporating, at times, comments from members of the audience as well. Please bear with us, this job is vital. I believe that you will find the work on the second draft commendable.
