SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Sewer Board continues to ignore district residents’ desire to not pursue a central sewer. It is beyond me how the Board can void a legal election in which we said NO to the sewer project last December. I thought we had to vote on any bond debt we assume...isn’t this taxation without representation?

I live in Sub-district 2. That is mostly the lakeshore homes and businesses west of Highway 83N. But I live EAST of the elementary school in (what the Board decided) is one of the lowest income areas of the sewer district and, the way it is laid out, probably one of the most expensive to sewer.

We need to know how much this project is going to cost us before we sign on. How much will we be paying for the monthly bond debt before we ever get sewer service? Can we refuse to pay for bond debt we never approved? What will be the additional cost for service lines to our homes? Because we will inevitably be hooked to Sub-district 1 service lines, will we be paying for them too? I understood each sub-district would have to pay for its own lines.

Will the District pay for reclaiming our properties when it crosses our roads, sidewalks and lawns to hook us up?

Why doesn’t the Board answer these questions? I sure wouldn’t buy a car without knowing the price.

Why should I have to buy a $20 million dollar sewer without knowing how much it is going to cost?
