A Few Questions Regarding the Proposed Sewer

SEELEY LAKE - As most of you may know, the Seeley Lake Sewer Project was legally voted down in December. Why and who said this vote did not stand? However, at the present time, the Seeley Sewer District is still trying to shove this project down our throats.

I also want to make it clear that no one in the December election voted more than once on the sewer project, as stated sometime this year in the Pathfinder. I personally talked to the election board in Missoula and they said they went through every ballot to make sure no one voted twice.

My letter’s main concern is questioning who is paying the $40,000 to “sell” the Seeley Lake Sewer Project and why is the County Engineer Greg Robertson heading the effort to orchestrate the sales program? Robertson is a county employee who should be upholding the law and he is leading the charge to overturn a “Legal” election result, which turned down the sewer project last December.

Another concern I have is the Citizen’s Alliance Bank involvement. If the Citizen’s Alliance Bank has donated the money through the Seeley Lake Community Foundation, as rumor has it, then who sought that donation from an out-of-state bank corporation? Was it the owners themselves who offered the donation or was it a local board of bank directors who approved it? Who are the directors and what do they have to gain by this? Lastly, when will the protest period begin, how will it be conducted (hopefully by a legally drawn up document), who will be responsible to oversee the results of the protests that are submitted and how many protests will be needed to vote the sewer down again?

These are just a few questions to be answered with more on the horizon.
