Andi Bourne, Pathfinder count
The Seeley Lake Ranger District conducted a prescribed burn in the Horseshoe West project area May 5. With the help of personnel from the U.S. Forest Service, Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation and The Nature Conservancy, they burned 55 acres. The intent of the low intensity underburn was to reduce hazard fuels, restore fire adapted ecosystems, restore soil productivity and improve wildlife habitat.
