MISSOULA - The Potomac School Parent Teacher Club (PTC) is hosting the 14th Annual Bingo Night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula May 13. A team effort of more than 10 PTC members guaranteed organization of the event.
The venue had to change from the Potomac/Greenough Community Center to the North Reserve street location because attendance had risen to the point of capacity for the Potomac building. Having bingo at the Hilton Garden Inn allows for more than 500 people.
According to PTC member Allyson Nelson the event previously exceeded capacity.
“To continue being able to offer the same fun experience to a growing number of participants, we took the hard decision to change the event venue,” said Nelson.
All proceeds will benefit the Potomac School students by providing means for funding activities including new library books, Animal Wonders Education, author workshops, field trip transportation, track supplies, various assemblies and presentations.
PTC has a goal of $5,000 for playground improvements, $3,000 for the school, chimes program and continued support and funding of experiential learning.
This year 12 rounds of bingo will begin at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m. In addition to bingo, there will be raffle cans and a 50/50 drawing. Bingo cards and raffle tickets are $1.
Admission is $10 per seat and concessions will be available. There is a limited number of reserved seating and tables available.
“The feel will obviously be different,” said Nelson, “but the motivation for the event has not changed. The knowledge that everyone participating is playing for a good cause will hopefully help to maintain the excitement Bingo Night has generated in the past. The new location will serve everyone better. It is our hope that those who have supported the event in the past will continue to do so.”
