FRENCHTOWN - The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks danced past Victor and Clark Fork to earn the title District 13-C Champions for the fifth year in a row.
The victories advance the Lady Blackhawks' season record to 19-1 and earned them a trip to Butte this week for the Western C Divisional Tournament. The Lady Blackhawks are set to face Ennis in the opening round.
Clark Fork will join the Lady Blackhawks in Butte after defeating Victor 58-46 in a challenge game for second place.
Versus Victor
The Lady Blackhawks took on Victor in the semifinal round of the tournament Feb. 17.
The Ladies led by 13 at the half and then blew the game out in the second half. They held Victor to just 7 points in two quarters. Final score was 61-19.
Alex Bohlman pounded in 5 three-pointers and led the Lady Blackhawks with 21 points.
The Lady Blackhawks hit only 50 percent from the free throw line though they had just 8 attempts.
Also scoring: Mary Strumpfer 9; Cera Strumpfer 9; Tessa Grimes 8; Autumn Morse 7; Andi Bohlman 5 and Terra Bertsch 2.
Versus Clark Fork
The Lady Blackhawks faced Clark Fork in the District 13-C Championship game Feb. 18.
The Ladies dominated the game from the start. They allowed Clark Fork just 2 baskets from the field in the first half though they got in a little bit of foul trouble. Clark Fork sank 13 free throws before the Lady Blackhawks cleaned up their game.
The Lady Blackhawks nearly doubled Clark Fork's points with a final score of 61-31.
Mary Strumpfer and Tessa Grimes led the Lady Blackhawks with 12 points each.
The Lady Blackhawks shot less than 50 percent from the free throw line hitting only 7 of 15 attempted.
