FRENCHTOWN - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks season came to an end with a fourth place finish at the District 13-C Tournament in Frenchtown last weekend.
The Blackhawks headed into the tournament seeded second earning a bye in the first round. They fell to Darby but were able to send Clark Fork home before facing Lincoln.
The Blackhawks settled for fourth after falling to Lincoln in the consolation game. Their season ended with an overall record of 13-8.
Lincoln earned a chance to challenge Darby for second place after Darby fell to Valley Christian in the championship. Lincoln defeated Darby 60-50 Feb. 20 and will advance to the Western C Divisional Tournament in Butte this week.
Versus Darby
The Blackhawks met Darby in the semifinal of the District 13-C Tournament Feb. 17.
Darby took an early lead propelled by three-pointers.
The Blackhawks were able to match Darby nearly point for point through the rest of the game. They were able to hold Darby to just two baskets in the final frame but paid dearly for fouls. Darby hit 13 of 21 free throws in the quarter.
The Blackhawks were unable to close the gap and were sent to the consolation bracket, 42-53.
Cameron Haines led the Blackhawks putting up half the team's points. Haines hit 2 three-pointers, 6 two-pointers and was 3 of 4 from the foul line.
Also scoring: Bradley Miller 9; Keaton Johnson 8; Avery Smith 4; Nino Robinett 3 and Chance Johnson 1.
Versus Clark Fork
The Blackhawks took on Clark Fork in a loser out game Feb. 18.
Again, the Blackhawks slipped behind early. They headed into the second quarter down by 5 but were able to nearly shut Clark Fork out. The Blackhawks allowed only a pair of free throws to their 12 points.
The Blackhawks enjoyed a small lead through the third quarter and sealed the deal in the fourth. Clark Fork was sent home, 49-36
Keaton Johnson scored 17 to lead the Blackhawks. He hit 8 of 9 from the free throw line.
Also scoring: Cameron Haines 11; Bradley Miller 7; Nino Robinett 6; Chance Johnson 6 and Avery Smith 2.
Versus Lincoln
The Blackhawks faced Lincoln in the consolation game Feb. 18.
The teams nearly matched each other point for point in the first quarter before Lincoln blew the game out in the second.
The Blackhawks headed into the second half down by 20 and were unable to mount any kind of comeback till late in the game. They outscored Lincoln in the final frame 23-10 but it was too little too late. The final score was 45-60.
Nino Robinett led the Blackhawks with 11 points. Robinett sunk 3 three-pointers and a layup.
The Blackhawks did well from the free throw line hitting 10 of 12 attempted.
