Open Positions on Local Boards - Filing Deadline Feb. 6
Several local government boards have trustee seats up for re-election in the May 2 election. Boards and number of positions to be elected include: Seeley Lake Community Council (2); Swan Valley Community Council (1); Seeley Lake Sewer District (3); Seeley Lake Rural Fire District (2) and the Seeley Lake-Swan Valley Public Hospital District (2). Terms vary in length from three to four years.
The Declaration for Nomination and Oath of Candidacy must be completed and returned to the Elections Office in the Missoula County Courthouse at 200 West Broadway by 5 p.m., Feb. 6.
Filing forms for all boards are available from the local boards or through the Missoula County Elections Office. The Elections Office can be reached by calling 406-258-4751.
Greenough/Potomac Annual Fireman’s Appreciation Dinner and Ice Cream Social, Jan. 28
POTOMAC - The Greenough/Potomac Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their annual Fireman’s Appreciation Dinner and ice cream social at 6 p.m., Jan. 28.
The new QRU truck will be parked out front of the Community Center. Baskin-Robbins will be serving up all sorts of fun flavors after dinner. Paws Up will again be providing the main course. Guests are asked to bring sides.
Swan Valley Connections Presents “Wild Skies” Feb. 3
SWAN VALLEY - Swan Valley Connections will be hosting “Wild Skies” on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 7 p.m. at the Swan Valley Community Hall. Come meet Daya, the northern saw-whet owl, and Brooke Tanner, raptor rehabilitator of The Wild Skies Raptor Center and learn about the life histories of native birds of prey.

Seeley Lake Library News
SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Library Book Club will be discussing “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m.
In this book, which takes the form of a letter to the author’s teenage son, Coates examines what it means to be black in America today. Winner of the 2015 National Book Award, this book has been described as visceral, eloquent and beautifully redemptive. All are invited to join in the discussion. Books are available at the checkout desk.
The Seeley Lake Library is a branch of Missoula Public Library located at Seeley-Swan High School. The library is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
