Not My Land - Let Lewis Have a Gravel Pit and Make a Living

SEELEY LAKE - I moved to the beautiful mountain town of Seeley Lake in 1961 at the age of 16. My husband moved here two years before in 1959.

We were here for many years before the Double Arrow Ranch subdivided. I didn’t like it but it wasn’t my land so it was none of my business.

There are beautiful homes and wonderful people living there now but we need to remember others were here first, like the Lewis family.

Their kids went to school with our kids. They have been scrambling to make a living like the rest of the work force in Seeley, paying bills and raising families.

When I hear the community industry like the mill, the logging trucks, the plow trucks, etc., I am so thankful that the people in this community have jobs and can stay here and raise their children.

When I hear the noise of the coming and going of the planes and the gun range, the snowmobiles etc., I am glad for those of our community that can afford and have the energy to enjoy their toys.

We have a great community. I hope we all pull together and think of each other.

Let’s let the Lewis boy have his gravel pit to make a living.

And don’t worry about the animals. We are right by the airport and gun range and the noise doesn’t stop the bears, coyotes, mountain lions and deer from coming to our place. The grizzly bear that is at the Lincoln Ranger Station was at our airport. They aren’t afraid of noise.
