Blackhawks 1-1 at Western C Tip-off

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks defeated Granite and fell to Hot Springs at the Western C Tip-off last week. The Blackhawks now have a 2-1 overall record for the season.

Versus Granite

The Blackhawks took on the Granite Prospectors in Ronan on Dec. 9.

The Blackhawks had a solid victory over the Prospectors, outscoring them in every quarter to a final score of 69-32.

Gunner Sloan led the Blackhawks with 23 points from 10, two-point baskets and 3 free throws.

Cameron Haines racked up 20 points. Haines hit 4 of the teams 9 three-pointers.

The team hit just under 50 percent of their 19 attempted free throws.

Also scoring: Keaton Johnson 9; Chance Johnson 5; Bradley Miller 5; Avery Smith 4 and Hunter Shelmerdine 3.

Versus Hot Springs

The Blackhawks faced the Savage Heat of Hot Springs Dec. 10 at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.

The first quarter ended with the teams tied at 12 each and the Blackhawks headed into the half with a single point advantage.

The Blackhawks were down by two heading into the final quarter. They held the Savage Heat to just one field goal but Hot Springs punished them from the foul line. Hot Springs sank 11 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter.

The final score was 48-56 in favor of the Savage Heat.

Cameron Haines scored 19 points to lead the Blackhawks. He hit 5, three-pointers in the game. Gunner Sloan was close behind with 17 points of his own.

The Savage Heat played a clean game, giving the Blackhawks only 6 shots from the free throw line. The Blackhawks made just 2.

Also scoring: Bradley Miller 8 and Cameron Haines 4.

This Week

The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks host the Valley Christian Eagles Dec. 16. First game starts at 2:30 p.m. with an order of GBGB.

The teams then head to Arlee Dec. 17 with games starting at 1 p.m.
