Election day is coming on Nov. 8. I encourage all of you to come out and vote if you haven’t done so already with absentee ballots.
This has been a wild election season and as US citizens we not only have the responsibility to vote but must also actually get out and do it!
I will be working at the Seeley Lake polling place as a Provisional Election Judge. I have worked many elections and have seen the process and how it works. I can tell you that our election process is in no way rigged and outcomes are not known until all the ballots cast are counted.
Each person in the Register is allowed one vote and only one. Once you are in the polling booth, you can be assured the vote you cast is private. The crew at the polling place goes through great pains to make sure we don’t see how you vote and to keep the process as transparent as possible at the same time.
I encourage all voters to read through the Montana Voter Information Pamphlet to be informed about our Local and State issues—both the pros and cons. For the position of President, I encourage you all to not rely on what your friends are doing or what the news outlets are saying but be equally informed. Go to the respective websites of the candidates: Hillary Clinton, hilliaryclinton.com; Donald Trump, donaldjtrump.com; Gary Johnson, johnsonweld.com; Jill Stein, jill2016.com and Roque De La Fuente, rocky2016.com. Take the time to read their position statements and what they would like to do for our country—then make an informed decision when you vote.
See you at the polls on Nov. 8th! We will be open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
