The Seeley Lake Eagles Cross Country team ran great times in the longest and final race of the season.
Emily Maughan followed her sister Sariah around the course and out-kicked her in the final 100 meters since Sariah had a cold. Sariah had beaten both eighth graders from Missoula in previous races that placed first and second. Emily place third and Sariah fourth, both earning a Top 10 Award.
Narrowly missing the top ten was Hannah Ayers who ran very consistent mile laps and placed 13th. Kyla Conley and Lexi Sunderland were unable to finish the season with them.
These girls have exhibited strong running profiles all season. If they continue, the future looks bright in a couple of years for a Seeley-Swan Girls State Cross Country team.
Chase Haines was the lone boy entrant for the Seeley Lake team. A self-proclaimed sprinter, he ran his best in his first two-mile race.
