Swan Song
SEELEY LAKE - Steven Alexander Saunders, 57, of Seeley Lake, MT passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, at his daughters home in Missoula, Mont. Steve was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2015, and fought a very courageous battle.
He was born March 31, 1959, to Robert and Lois Saunders in Minot, N.D. He attended Bishop Ryan High School and graduated in the class of 1978. He continued on with two years of college.
He married Lisa M. Jenson (Schonrock) July 25, 1987 and together they had three beautiful children, Austin Robert, Dylan Alexander and Sierra Mae Nichole Saunders, all whom Steve loved dearly.
He was a hard worker at Pyramid Mountain Lumber in Seeley Lake, Mont. and worked there for about 20 years.
Steve is survived by: his children Austin, Dylan, and Sierra (all of Missoula); his siblings Jim (Marty) Saunders, John (Vivienne) Saunders, Barb (Jim) Skarperude, Tom (Nena) Saunders and Mark Saunders; and his father Robert Saunders.
Steve will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and camping, which he enjoyed with many friends and family. Steve touched many lives, and everyone who met him will remember his kind heart. He is now resting in peace with his mother Lois and his memory will go on forever.
We would like to give a thank you to Elilia, Tammy, Chris and Ariel from Hospice for helping us, and making Steve as comfortable as he could be for his last moments. Upon Steve’s request, we will not be having a funeral but there will be a memorial service to spread his ashes that will be announced in the future.
