Fund the Fight with Breast Cancer Research Stamps

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On July 29, 1998 an Act of Congress authorized the Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp.

Semipostals are stamps on which the price exceeds the regular first-class letter rate. The difference is devoted to a specific cause. Currently a First Class stamp sells for 47 cents; a Breast Cancer research stamp sells for 60 cents. Breast Cancer Research stamps are Forever stamps so additional postage after a rate change is not necessary.

The difference is donated to breast cancer research. It may not seem like much but over the past 18 years, through the generosity of the American public more than 81 million dollars have been raised to fight breast cancer.

Please visit the Seeley Lake Post Office at 3172 MT Hwy 83N. Purchase a sheet of Breast Cancer Awareness stamps to help us “Fund the Fight.” You will also send a powerful message of hope with every letter and card you send.
