Fatal Crash Claims Life of Congressional Libertarian Candidate

POTOMAC - At approximately 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, Michael C. Fellows, age 59 of Missoula, Mont., was involved in a head on collision at mile marker 16.5 on Highway 200. Fellows died at the scene. The person in the other involved vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The initial investigation suggests that Fellows was traveling west on Highway 200, returning from a campaign function held in Seeley Lake when the crash occurred.

The Montana Highway Patrol is conducting the crash investigation while the sheriff’s office conducts a coroner’s investigation. Fellows was transported to the Montana State Medical Examiner’s office in order to assist in determining the cause of the incident.

Fellows was the libertarian nominee for US House of Representatives. Governor Steve Bullock and Lt Governor Mike Cooney issued the following statement, “Mike Fellows was committed and dedicated to the Libertarian cause. This is truly a sad day for Montana and we thank him for his service.”
