Lady Blackhawks Battle Mountain Cats and Eagles

The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks took on the Mountain Cats of the Clark Fork Co-op and the Valley Christian Eagles last week. The Ladies split the week giving them a 1-1 in conference and 1-2 overall record.

Versus Clark Fork Co-op

The Lady Blackhawks traveled to Superior Sept. 8 to tame the Mountain Cats. The Ladies defeated the Cats with a wide margin in game one, 25-16. The Cats put up a better fight but the Lady Blackhawks still prevailed 25-23 before finishing the Cats off in game three, 25-13.

Alex Bohlman led the Lady Blackhawks with 3 aces, 8 assists, 7 kills and 8 digs. Tessa Grimes and Ashley Miller also had 8 digs each. Andi Bohlman led in stuff blocks with 4.

The Lady Blackhawks spread the offense out fairly well with five of their six hitters scoring at least 3 kills each.

Versus Valley Christian

The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Eagles Sept. 10. The Eagles came out strong putting the Ladies down 16-25 in game one. The Lady Blackhawks tied up the match in game two after edging the Eagles out 25-23.

Game three went to the Eagles, 17-25 but the Lady Blackhawks weren't ready to give up. They took game four, 25-15 and pushed the match to a fifth game. No other team has taken the Eagles to a fourth or fifth game this season.

The Lady Blackhawks fell to the Eagles, 11-15 in the final game of the match.

Alex Bohlman led the Ladies with 15 assists and 3 stuff blocks while Tessa Grimes had 7 kills. Stevi Meade led with 11 digs. Meade, Andi Bohlman and Ashley Miller each had 1 ace.

This Week

The Lady Blackhawks play three matches this week starting in Lincoln for a Varsity only match Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. The Ladies then host Victor for three matches Sept. 16 with the C-Squad starting at 4 p.m. The final match of the week will also be at home as the Lady Blackhawks take on Drummond Sept. 17 with JV starting at 4 p.m.
