Blackhawks Tangle with Mountain Cats

The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks headed to Superior to take on the Clark Fork Co-op's Mountain Cats Sept. 9.

After allowing the Mountain Cats a pair of unanswered touchdowns in the opening quarter, the Blackhawks put their first points on the board.

Shane Lindemer took a pass from Bradley Miller in for the 55-yard touchdown. Miller hit Chance Johnson for the two-point conversion cutting the Mountain Cats lead to just 6.

The Mountain Cats spent the rest of the half and the third quarter running up the score. The Blackhawks had to wait until the final quarter to find the end zone again.

Miller again hit Lindemer for another huge play. This time, Lindemer went nearly the full length of the field for a 70-yard touchdown. Miller ran in for the two-point conversion giving the Blackhawks their final points.

The final score was 16-54 giving the Blackhawks a 0-3 record.

Blackhawk Head Coach Ryan Sokoloski said the team struggled with simple mistakes. On the offense, fumbles and interceptions. On the defensive side Sokoloski said they had some trouble with leaving receivers open and missing some critical tackles.

Sokoloski said that despite the score he feels the team is playing better and he is seeing improvements.

The Blackhawks take a week off with their next game being at home against Twin Bridges Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.
